BF Goodrich KM2 tyres cracking
Hi I bought these back in November and have only done around 1600 miles and they cracking all over the treads on 2 of the tyres.
Anyone got any ideas before I go back to who supplied them.

Thanks Dan

do you use alloy wheel cleaner ? this is really bad for tyres, you must allways wash it all off

Yes it's just on the tread.
Ill get pictures later as proof
Haven't washed it since they were fitted Rolling Eyes so can't be any cleaning products.

Why, ever heard of manufacturing defects? Just because a product is generally good doesn't mean that there will never be a bad batch. Not BFG I know but I believe BigMike had a problem with some new Grabber AT2's awhile back.

A post on a SA 4x4 site where 2 month old KM2s developed sidewall and tread cracking.

This tyre, taken from an overlanding site/group had done 10,000KM on mostly tar & dirt roads.

That is damage not a manufacturing defect... cracking is something i doubt a company like BFG would allow after the tests they do? Flint and whin stone is as sharp as a knife as proven by the Stone-Age hunters so why is a rubber tread any different? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

What about shart objects causing damage like that though especially glass and metal. All the fly tipping in the lanes here with all the rubbish drives me wild Evil or Very Mad when I changed Grabbers for KM2's nearly all had a nail screw glass or metal object wedged in the tread. Surely harsh braking ect could* do that in an un-lucky situation. You'd be surprised how sharp some stones can be

Are you saying BFG never have defects? Get real. Not all defects are visible and unless every single tyre in every single batch is tested nothing is 100% guaranteed. I don't know if the cracks to the OP's tyres is damage or a defect but the point is neither do you. To say the OP is wrong and it would never happen (without as much as even seeing the tyres) is ridiculous.

OK, you obviously use a better tyre? Let us all know what it is... That picture of the GG is 100% damage and not a manufacturing issue, try claiming for that and they will laff at you. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

WTF are you talking about "I obviously use a better tyre"? I'm not rubbishing BFG I had them on my last Defender, but for you to claim the OP is wrong without even seeing the tyres is ridiculous and not a little arrogant. As for me claiming for the tyre in the picture, re read the post and you will see it was taken from an overlanding forum, not my tyre.

Theres no facts in your post, just your opinions. As for 40 years of ownership I'm not that far behind, whats your point?
