No but keep the tin inside for a bit or warm it up because its thixatropic with temperature (ie it gets thick
![]() It goe much further if you spray a bit on a rag then wipe it on rather than spray direct a lots is wasted that way. |

I've just ordered a "quart" of ACF-50 in liquid form for that very reason.
I can put it into a trigger-pack if I want to spray it...or... ...paint it on to prevent overspray (i.e. near brake disks, or near the aux drive belt in the engine bay) ![]() |

You can put it on in the cold without any issues as long as the liquid is a decent temp when you start. But by spraying you'll go through a can in no time at all, believe me, I've made that mistake

Thanks BigMike, good advice, so will spray onto a rag. Maybe a silly question, but does it wash off when you clean the car? |

Not a silly question at all, but no, it doesnt. If you scrub it it will come off, but if its just water not under very high pressure it's fine. You'll see the water beading on the areas you've put it. On a Defender, us it on all bolt heads, wipe the rear crossmember with it, door locks, wheel nuts, wheels, in fact any area there is any kind of exposed ally or steel at all. Front bumper too, engine bay, hinges, anywhere you think really. Also good is to wipe window surrounds with it. It makes them look good and keeps the water away.
You really only need to do it a couple of times a year. |

Bearing in mind that this stuff was developed by the Lear Corp in Canada for use inside aircraft box sections and behind skins, and the outside airtemperature at altitude reaches -56C, I don't think the cold temperatures we're experiencing at the moment are likely to affect its properties.
Warming it up though does make it a lot easier to get out of the aerosol or pump dispenser. Pete |

I used the aerosol today and it was a doddle.
It reminded me of gun oil spray that I used years ago. Thanks to everyone for their advice, Paul |
