Warn 9.5ti Winch for Sale
Before I go to ebay I wanted to offer you guys first, as its the genuine LR winch for the defender.

Due to this winch not fitting my discovery winch bumper and the choice of winch bumper for my disco limited (not to mention the one is on it now!) ive decided to sell my Warn 9.5ti winch. Crying or Very sad

Its 4 years old and has been used 4 times max it was even serviced once in that period.

Of the 4 years, its spent 3 years on the front of the defender 2 and 1/2 of winch were under the genuine Warn neoprene cover (which will be included even if it is slightly faded) the last 9 months (since i sold the car) its been in the garage and the first 3/4 months of its life it was waiting for the car to be delivered

It has the longer defender power cables attached (Fitted by Arbil the UK Warn distributor) and includes the controller (almost unused), the fairlead etc

I tested it before i removed it from the car and it was working fine and i cant stress its really had a sheltered life, never being used for off road recovery, being regularly oiled in the right places - and used onlyfor moving some low weight items around - 1 tree 2 cars in a yard I recall. I will point out that there is one small (5p size max) chip to its paint covering on the right side of the main body by the drum - but I cant see any other problems or issues.

At the minute its behind my wifes car in the garage and if required i can take a photo...full info can be found either from www.warn.com or www.arbil4x4.co.uk or hopefully http://www.arbil4x4.co.uk/Catalogue/Produc...c8ad0e21a4

As you can see they are £1371.14 (£1142.62 + VAT) from Arbil where i got it from and given that and its sheltered life im looking to start discussions at £900.

Collection I would suggest is best Mike

Should be the same as a mine (fitted to a previous Defender)

As supplied by Landrover, so should look like this fitted

Exactly the same - except this has the wire rope - thanks

Dont look at the LR list price, i almost had a heart attack...My problem/frustration is the replacement warn is more than this one new, just as it was about to be pressed into service!

You dont have to cut the grill to mount if anyone is going to fit to a defender btw Mike

Strange Question
Mine was originally on my TD5, dealer fitted new, genuine Landrover supplied winch, air con winch bumper, Winch A Bar, etc

Has now been fitted to the last 5 Defender's ?, both TD5 and Puma, all with A/C, and all have had needed the grill trimmed ?

Not a problem, as just bought a new grill and swaped the cut one along with the winch etc

Unless the bumper is a non aircon one, and the stealer's fitted the wrong one ??
If so, a cut grill is preferred rather than haveing the bumper out another couple of inches ??

You have to wonder why LR would spec a winch as OEM which requires the grille to be cut.

And / or the bumper Mike, as per Rangie Sport and D3 !!

May measure the front overhang then sometime,, as it must be shorter that with a AC winch bumper California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

The winch has the soleniod kit in the bridge above it - it makes for (and a feature) improved waterproofing so everything is there. It doesnt come with the bumper i can supply you the P/N for the genuine bumper. It also has the extra long cables to fit the defender, from new they only come with about 2ft of cable.

The grill cut is simple - it was written in the instructions once and never removed. Most dealers will cut it but it doesnt need it at all...i cant remember how i was tipped off you didnt need to, maybe it was that i dont like needlessly cutting things and i tried it

This is it on my defender when new (hence shiney):

No...there is the solenoid pack that controls the winch operation (on other winches this is the black box the controller plugs into) this is located in the bridge of this winch.

You could have an isolator switch - which you might put next to the battery - but this is different and something ive never done on any of my winches. You can buy a fancy remote version of this kill switch, which might be the sort of thing you are thinking about - ive only ever seen 1 person with that, most have a simple kill switch the type that takes the red key

Everything needed to operate the winch is included...i probably even have the original instructions Mike
