Hi Stephen,
The issue is that the bulbs are diodes and land rover in their wisdom wired the lights backwards (Earth in the centre) to get LED 'bulbs' to work you will need to swap the wires around. ... |

When I built my trailor I used a 12s charger it also had the advantage of giving me a reverse light. The genuine 12 s kits are available on eBay for around 50 .
