3 pairs plus a sub would probably be overkill.

Not sure if this would work.
The other option I think I read is to power the far rear? direct from the HU via the normal speaker cable. For hopefully far rear fill?

The ride has got to firm up with 18's which may be an advantage or disadvantage depending on what your after.
Performance stronger side wall flex with the 18's = harsher ride better handling
