	Agree with above - Autoglym intensive tar remover is highly rated or if you need something stronger try paint thinners (be careful with it though).

	I would use a decent clay bar - well lubed so it shouldn't stick.

	I've just fitted Optimill 48 spline quick release boss and it does not alter the steering wheel distance by any noticable amount and is built like a tank. Very happy.
