On Td5 the "purple" accessory socket wire is not connected within the plug on the end of the loom for the tow bar socket so has to be connected separately to enable 12S or 13 Pin function.

Battery back up was a cost option but standard IIRC on XS spec not sure about MY2013

Even with battery back up LR would still have to submit it to Thatcham for testing and approval before the insur ...

The scoop is that the SVX light is specifically tooled for the Defender and Land Rover own the tooling so there are no aftermarket replacements not matter how hard you look on Trucklite' ...
