There's an O ring in there as well which is more for sealing the oil. The seal stops crap going into the sump, the O ring helps stop the oil coming out.

Weigh it in, the engine can usually be sold. Gearbox sometimes, the diffs you want. The rest you just weigh it in as you say. |

I personally wouldn't bother with a Sankey / Penman as whilst okay offroad they're pretty impractical for anything else.

Never had anything need more than about 7t and that was to disintegrate an L322 wheel bearing. A bit of thin oil, particularly when it starts moving makes things a lot easier. |
