Are you talking heater fan or condenser fan

Normally with faulty heater fan resister . You lose one speed then another but normally left with full speed only

I would think maybe fan motor brus ...

as a extra security measure its not a bad idea to run a extra earth from a different hole on battery box to chassis anyway , cutting off old terminal and fitting one with a bolt on is good thing to do

cut it off and crimp a better one on

or connect to where earth lead connects to chassis ( think the bolt is long enough to put extra lead on and extra nut to save disturbing original nut )

NO blend motors on defenders , only cables and rods move the flaps , maybe cable has come right off or missing

how long have you had defender? did it ever work ? ( was cable missing when you brough ...
