There are two sets of holes in the plate. Slotted ones for newer doors and round holes for older doors. As there are no pre-cut holes in my new door I could probably use either. Did you add the reinfo ...

BTY, you're right, the dipstick is buried half way down inside the engine. I take my knuckles off every time I check the oil level. I will pick up on your suggestion. Thanks.
