Yes I will probably do that.
I've answered my own question.. Pins 1 and 5 (pin 3 is absent) activate the valve. Just waiting to see how long the cleaning lasts before it sticks again.

Mine has always made the ‘chuga chuga’ self cleaning noise, but it has stopped. Probably because the valve is blocked up.
