I have the same problem sometimes. Rebooting the iPhone fix it for a few days.
Seem to be a Apple IOS bug, my car has no updates for many months. Or a Waze bug in the last updates.

Delete all the connections in the car and phone. Restart both and configure a new connection.
Sometimes it helps.
