I had very similar symptoms- was water in fuel filter from perished tank breather hose - and from this a knackered VCV

Have you tried OEM ?
They do a re-trim kit of new foam/covers that convert standard seats to ‘sports’ seats - they seem pretty darn good value

Timbotim - when you say you regreased the swivels do you mean you refilled them with one shot?

Reason I ask is I had a very similar sound noise somewhere between a duck quacking and a seal begging ...
