265/75/16 suitable for long-distance travel?
I would like to benefit from your experiences and know whether the above tire size is suitable for long-distance travel. This means that the tires are also available in Africa, for example. I know that the format 235/85/16 is better suited for this, but maybe you all world travelers also know something about the above format

At http://reifen-4x4.de/ the 265er is currently even more in stock than the 235er. Sure, we are in Europe, but maybe it also applies to the rest of the world!?

Thank you for your answers!

I imagine that will be ok. 235/85/16 was the standard size for 16” Alloy Wheels from the factory in the UK, so that would be ideal, but I don’t see why 235/75 would be an issue other than the overall diameter affecting Speedo slightly

I’ve always run 265 and have driven thousands on miles on them without issues even getting a replacement in Morocco.

I think 265/75 was the standard size on Isuzu Trooper and Land Cruiser Colorado/Prado back in the 90s and 2000s if that makes any difference. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Plus , if stuck, a 265/75r16 is the same diameter ( well there is o 0.3% difference Smile ) as a 235/85r16. so in an emergency you could use a 235/85r16 if that’s the only tyre available and in many parts of Africa I don’t expect they would really care.
