D250 is a beast!
After nearly 2 months of tootling around on A roads, single tracks and plenty of off-roading I’ve just completed a 480 mile round trip to Harrogate from Stirling via the M74/M6/A66 (that bit was an awful lot of stop start though) and the A1M and the get up and go on the motorway is quite startling after the D240. The gear changes seem much quicker when you ask it to drop a gear and the fuel consumption was the right side of 30mpg despite some very spirited driving when entering the outer overtaking lane GP.
The 90 doesn’t feel as planted on the road as the 110 but it’s plenty swift and comfortable enough. Delighted with the rather compromised 90 though on a long, driver only trip with enough clothing for a weekend away.
One thing I forgot to see was if the “eco” mode of the TR made any difference - I used comfort mode for the round trip Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Having had a D200 90 and D250 110 I didn’t notice a massive improvement in power, possibly due to the 110 being a bit heavier. This D250 90 though is a little pocket rocket, fun to drive and just skips along the back roads. Even though it sacrifices some off road ability, the coil suspension really suits the 90. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

l would agree, l've got a coil spring D250 Commercial and it's flippin' awesome to drive, the engine is fabulous with seemingly all the performance you'd ever need.

Ride quality and general refinement are great. The engine sounds good too, if you floor it.

I have the D250 110 - it's definitely enough, chop a couple of feet off and I'm sure the 90 is hilarious.

I found the eco mode does make a significant difference, especially in stop start traffic. Still not great, but it would move me out of the teens and into low 20s.

MPG does seem to vary a lot on the D250/90 depending on use. I rarely get less than 40mpg (its normally around 42mpg) on my off peak 60 miles each way commute on mainly A and B roads. Even had 47mpg on one late night return journey. Now sold: 2023 Defender 90 D250 X-Dynamic SE (Eiger Grey).
