2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Stalling at idle
I've got a 2008 110 2.4 TDCI. It hasn't really missed a beat since I bought it, and has been great, but have recently been putting more miles on it and it's started stalling at idle.

The problem seems to occur after about 1 - 1.5 hours of driving - its fine when setting off, and on the motorway and faster roads but at the end of those journeys when in traffic it doesn't seem to like to idle. The idle revs get a bit rough and then suddenly drop and it cuts out. It's fine if I keep the revs up but the stalling makes life a bit difficult in London where we're based!

Any suggestions on what I should check?

Many thanks

1. Check for stored DTCs using a diagnostic tool.
2. In the absence of DTCs, replace the VCV.

Thanks for this. My Ultragauge isn’t giving any codes so I’ve ordered a Denso replacement VCV.
