There's a few companies offering the conversion for around £5,000
lf you enter "Defender L663 rear seat conversion" in a google search, you'll see the options. |

Buy the seats from a l494 and install those. Might aswell change the front ones, as the l494 ones are much more comfortable.

lt appears to be possible to fit rear seats to a 90 Commercial, someone in the USA has done it with off the shelf parts.
They've clearly used alternative seats as the floor is completely flat with them folded. l've asked for details. Click image to enlarge |

Did you ever get an answer on this fully flat conversion or more pictures?

No, only that they "have a contact in the U.K." who will do the work if l let them
have the parts that they take out. Unfortunately there's an issue with converting a Commercial to a car, with HMRC. So l won't be proceeding with it. Also it causes issues with insurance. |

Could you provide the contact details and price for this or any more details?

Ralph Sarek used the two folding rear seats from the 7 seater 110 for his commercial conversion - I also asked but got no further help Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |
