Yes there is a cover. It plugs into the base of the connector. The cover is held on with the looped bowden cable.

I fit them to all my vehicles. Saves opening the bonnet when jump starting other vehicles. the wiring under the bonnet is connected to the two 'posts' recommended for jump leads.

I can also use it to 'temporary' deploy my electrically operated folding roof tent.

You're building a nice rig. It's got me thing about mine. I want to use mine as a base for gravel / mountain biking. Thumbs Up Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

I only fitted it today. Wasn't planning on fitting a grille, who knows. Laughing

If you prefer to solder a heat gun works well (two 120 watt soldering irons are not enough), use lead/tin solder. Tin only solder is a pain & has other issues.

175 to 50 amp adaptor.

No no nooooo. Just crimp them. Solder makes a stiff point in the cable that leaves it prone to cracking. A good crimp is a much better option for stranded cable.

Very true. Soldering can cause 'wicking' of solder down the insulator sleeving, which is prone to fracture.

I did in fact crimp mine.
