Back to a Full Tilt
With the weather on the up, I'm starting to plan restoring my One Ten to a full tilt.

My dilemma at the moment is: who makes the best tilt/canvas and frame?

All Wheel Trim looks alright, but I can see some negative comments here and there.

Undercover Covers get good reviews, but their lead times are in another world (plus I don't know if they do frames).

Exmoor can be kept at arm's length . . .

So, what do people recommend? Charlie

I’ve used Undercover several times and have been happy with them. They don’t have a great record on communications and no website to speak of but I always try to deal with then direct at shows/sales, I have just bought a new full canvas for my series one from them at Newbury last week.
Have you thought about the top mount for your safety belts? If you’re not too worried about originality Purely Metal make a good hoop set with the top mount incorporated.

When I had my 80” I placed an order with UCC over the telephone, but never heard back.

I have given the seatbelt arrangement some thought. I’ll probably go back to the original style bar, as all of the holes are there. Charlie

I’m fully in favour of this idea!

Tilt frame should be easy - ex-mod 110 setup should be easy to find second hand (not Wolf though)

For the canvas only use Undercover…

Are Exmoor really that bad?

I ordered a tilt for my 110 pickup from Undercover over the phone last July, was told it would be ready in October, I gave up calling/emailing them.

Lovely to deal with over the phone initially but any time I called for an update they never bothered getting back to me.

Is it due to Brexit or something?

I used UCC for my 110 double cab full tilt conversion and Purely Metal for the roof bars http://www.purelymetal.co.uk/automotive/
A bonus that they work with each other regularly so knew what brackets I would need.

I'm very happy with both, although I did end up having no roof as UCC took forever https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/

What's wrong with Exmoor trim then? I thought they were supposed to be pretty good.

I’ve sent Purely Metal an email. Thumbs Up

It also looks like P. A. Blanchard have most of the hood sticks et cetera required.

Regarding Exmoor, it seems their quality control is very random. Sometimes they send out a canvas that is perfect, other times they send one out that’s asymmetrical and falls apart. We have a set of Elite Sports seats from them in our Puma. The first set had the documented problem where the foam separates from the backing. Exmoor, to be fair to them, did agree to replace both seats. However, after a year with the replacement seats the same thing happened. Charlie

Happy with the black canvas from AWT for my 90

They supplies it as a complete package with black HD stick set, but for the life of me I cannot recall who supplies them Rolling Eyes

I have the Purely Metal hood frame on my Ninety with an Undercover Covers hood, both excellent quality and good response times.

Does the Purely Metal frame require any modification to the cappings? Charlie

On a Ninety ( trading on memory ) no mods to the cappings needed other than perhaps you might need to drill through the cappings in one or two places to line up the holes in the hood frame, probably the same with a One Ten.
They aren’t like the Safety Devices frames which provide roll over protection but probably better than standard hood “sticks”.

The next question is have is header rails.

Which one do I need? Or am I stuck with using MTC6626 being an ‘83 One Ten? Charlie

I don’t think you’re stuck with either at this stage. Purely Metal will point you in the right direction but I think it’s more dependant on how the chosen canvas is finished and what system that requires to fasten it https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/
