Lucari carpet - what’s the max sound deadening you can app
Hi all. Has anyone fitted sound deadening under Lucari carpet? I’ve called them and they say the maximum deadening I should fit is the skinz (2 or 3mm) but has anyone successfully fit anything more substantial. I’d like to fit some sound barrier as well even if only another 5mm…

Thanks Ed.

Hi Ed.

I've fitted Lucari carpet with 4mm Noico Red sound insulation over the top of Noico Black 2mm sound deadening.

Carpet is short at the back of the seat box but reaches to the floor and sills just fine. Front corners meet, in fact mine overlapped a little. Fit around transmission tunnel seems fine.

It's not a trim shop fit, DIY but for me does the job and I am happy with it.

Can take some pictures for you if you would like to see better detail.

Damian

That’s really helpful Thankyou. Pictures would be great but only if you have the time - and not urgent I’m doing the job in 3 weeks time, just wanted to order the extra sound deadening ahead of time if it would fit. Think I’ll try some dodo barrier matting over my skinz. Cheers. Ed.

Perfect thanks. I’ve got skinz and just bought some 5mm dodo foam which is really heavy! So will see how I get on…

Out of interest did you cut away the foam that sits over the gear stick tunnel and comes as standard? And what’s the gated on the handbreak?

Thanks Ed.

Hopefully you will be ok with the 5mm.

Didn't cut any of the foam on the tunnel, in fact added layers of noico black anti vibration underneath it where I could. Also filled in with sound insulation sheets where there were any gaps.

The handbrake surround is an after market item to lock the handbrake on. Just another layer of security to hinder any attempts.

The Jetlock is a fairly simple fit and handy to just snap on if I am nipping in and out of shops etc or as an additional layer when parked up over night. Bolts in same bolt holes, lever needs adjusting a little to have the correct range of movement to be locked back.

Yes, it's Tamar Blue Thumbs Up
