Unfortunate, though very avoidable.
I can’t help but think that knocking, what looks like a decent beech, down whole was never going to end well.
No connection with either party, footage taken from a Facebook post, it appears only the Def90 came off the worst. Not forgetting the tree company reputation.

It's where most amateurs go wrong, they go for the big down in one cut. The proper way to do it is to climb up and take it down in lots of little bits.

Jeez good job there was nobody on the street or in the defender. Imagine being under it doing an oil change or something and that comes down on you.

That’s the thing, the original f/b poster had shown the footage from the street side of the felling.

Needless to say the operator wasn’t best please with his plan of attack, bouncing helmets etc.

I wouldn’t climb that, from the way the branches snapped it was rotten as.

Easy fell the other way with rope, wedges and a bit of know how,no excuse.

I’ve felled loads of dodgy Beech trees and any professional knows you go full belt and braces because they can fail on the hinge and fall in any direction.

Operator should have their saws confiscated.
