Hard wire Dashcam
Hello

I would like to wire my dashcam in so always on (as it has a Parking mode) Its a Nextbase 622GW

I have seen these kits?






My question(s)


1) Is this ok to use a Piggy back fuse... What do I chose in the fuse box to 'tap' into.

2) Does the back just go to Earth

I used one of these for my nextbase dashcam on the TD5, pinched the stereo fuse position as I haven't got one Smile Its not always on though as is linked to the ignition. The onboard battery in the camera powers the parking mode so it doesn't need to be wired up to an 'always on' fuse.

I connected mine to the permanent feed for the interior light and fitted camera by the rear view mirror.

Scott, I've used the same kit with my Nextbase for 4-5 years without issue.

Can't rememeber which fuse I piggybacked but from memory it will be one I dont/barely use. Something like the rear heated screen. I'll check later.

I managed to route mine from the fuse board under the dash, up the A pillar (behind the cover) and then superglued in place in the run across the screen rubber/headlining edge. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone
2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW

I'm used to getting cables around having fitted the rear camera. I do try and hide them best I can Smile

What size tap-a-fuse is needed? I guess it would be the "standard" size not mini, not micro right?

Yes, they're all of the old "standard" size Smile Compatible with 6.3mm spades (edit: sorry, that's about 1/4 inch in your world Wink).
