Lazer lamps
I’m considering fitting a Lazer lamp to my new P400e when it arrives next month to hopefully improve the main beam output.

I’d be interested in any experiences other owners have had using Lazer lights on their new Defenders and any recommendations.

Hi Buz1500, I drive a Defender 110 with standard roof rails. I've been looking for a monthly opportunity for a lightbar on the roof for a long time. Lazerlamps only has an option for defenders without roof rails. I have already been in contact via email. The mounting options in the radiator grille take up too much space for the airflow, in my opinion.

I'll keep looking too. The products from Lazer Lamps make a very good impression.

Greetings, Hazelhunter

Hi Hazelhunter, I’m considering the Linear Elite 18 installed in the lower grill. I’m not too concerned about the airflow as the linear lights are quite slim.

Regards

This looks like a nice set up. I'm going to speak to them in the New Year.

I have a pair of lazer Triple R 750 lamps mounted in the grill of my VW T5. What can I say. They still make me grin like a loon every time I turn on (they are relay wired to come on with full beam). They are ridiculously bright. Insanely so. I love them for driving the back roads of Mid Wales. I got them in a sale direct from Lazer for half price, but that's still £250+vat for the 2 a couple of years ago. But I reckon they are probably worth it at full price to be honest. I guess the New Defender has a kit with mounting etc. Not checked. But as a driving lamp they are second to none.

I fitted a Lazer elite linear light with dip beam assist. Its amazing and unlike conventional lights you can see when going back to dip from main beam. The dip beam is split side to side so if a car comes towards you the kerb side still illuminates or vice versa if there is a big reflective sign on the left. The spread of light on main beam is amazing even with xenon headlights

Probably had the same fitted. Works well with manual main beam/dipped beam, but needed canbus interface for auto switching settings on the upgraded LED headlight units (not matrix). The draw back is slight blockage/obstruction of the front camera so you don't get the see through bonnet effect when off roading. 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White.

Just to follow on from this.
I have a pair of ST4's from my last Defender.
I've spoken to LAZER today and they do not supply a kit to make these fit a new Defender, but they were very helpful and said that if I buy a kit for the Triple R 750 I just need some spacers.
Do we know of any LAZER dealers that sell just the fitting kits? ie mounts and looms 110 D250 SE HT

my local dealer has these, Triple R750's fitted to his New Defender.

quoted me £744 with CAN adaptor.

NOTE, he has these fitted to the extreme of the bumper grille, as fitted to Lazer recommendation, shows up on the bumper camera, count the square holes in the grille.

@LR NUTS, the ST4's are 26 mm narrower than those lights.
I'd rather just pay for the mounting kit and loom rather than spending out for new lights when the pair I have are more than adequate for the job.
Just finding an outlet that will sell just the bits I want 110 D250 SE HT

Very interested in these, the Lazer stuff looks like good kit.

Not that keen on cutting the wiring loom to make the high beam trigger wire connection though. I wonder if a small patch loom could be made up to keep the factory wiring intact?

Just a quick update, I've spoken with LAZER and they do not sell direct so you have to go to dealer network. A few emails were sent, several didn't respond, 1 that did, were a speciality company doing conversions to a specific brand. I told them what I wanted to achieve and the parts that LAZER had recommended, I stated I only wanted the fitting kit and loom. ANswer back, We're not sure about that particular vehicle, please speak to LAZER for more advice.
Not the best response from a dealer, when you tell them what you want, all they have to do is box it up and send it.

Onto chasing more dealers now........... 110 D250 SE HT

For the price of the Lazer stuff I'd expect it to be hand delivered and come in a gold plated box. Not sure how they can justify their prices when you consider what they are made from and cost of the electronics.

The only thing I'd say extra is consider what sort of lighting you actually want. Highest lumen output probably isn't the answer. The profile of the beam and lux/beam distance is likely far more important.

I already have a pair of ST4's in the garage, that were on the front of my PUMA.
Mrs announced she liked the roofpodlights, but I'm not sure.
I've always had aux light on my cars, even fitted 4 Lightforce spots to my D3 when I had it.

So for relatively cheap I can get the LAZERS to work with my L663 then I'm in.

If I was buying new lights then I think LAZER would be a bit out of my budget 110 D250 SE HT
