If you look in pg60 of the rebuild manual (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://duud.ee/LR-manualid/LT230T_Transfer_Box_Overhaul_Manual.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjy0despuz8AhWgRkEAHeh1DsYQFnoECBMQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0uKIdBFAHbZZ4vQSgnSnqZ)
It implies that the seal should be installed deep enough so it 'just touches the circlip'. Cheers Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread 84' 90 3.9 V8 Caged Pickup Build Thread - Now For Sale Mobile Diesel Heater Build Thread |

As Steve has said. If however you are re-using your output flange then pay attention to where the original seal ran, check the flange is not scored. If there is any wear then adjust the seal fitment depth a little so the sal runs on a fresh part of the flange.
Nothing worse than doing the job only for oil to seep past the seal. |

Thanks geobloke,
I am using a new flange, so its probably best to stick to the manual instruction, with the seal "just touching the bearing circlip". Hope it goes well this time. Cheers, Lionel |
