Diff lock cannot be selected
I cannot select diff lock but it’s about 7 years since used it.
Are there any things I can do to be able to free this.
I can select high and low easily.
I believe lack of use is my problem. Own goal.

Anyone had this problem before?

Ahhhhh Use it or lose it my friend...

It is likely that the C-clip that connects to the diff lock actuator has corroded in place. It is a common thing on Land Rovers that do not get used often.

Circled in red.

Whatever you do... Do NOT force it...

The first step is going to be removing the matting and transmission tunnel then you can look down on to the linkage. You might be able to work it loose with some penetrating oil and a little heat. If it is stuck solid then it looks like you cannot buy the bits of the linkage separately for the Puma. So fingers crossed you can work it loose Thumbs Up

That sounds a good plan.
I was looking at the Haynes manual and it tells me nothing.
I will do a bit of exploring tomorrow in day light

You have been a great help thanks.

My old neighbour always said to stick it in reverse and try lock the diff at super slow speed backwards, never had the bottle to try it myself, could never fathom that reasoning Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

You can get at it from under the vehicle , with a good torch you can see it and spraying the linkage shown with proper penetrating oil, I.e plus gas, waiting about 10 mins , then doing again, waiting 10 mins then trying to wiggle the lever without too much pressure may get it moving. Once it is moving spray more penetrating oil and see how free it’s moving with someone else moving the lever while you are under the vehicle. That way you can see all the moving parts that need lubricating. When all working use some light spray grease on the linkage to keep it lubricated.

If unsuccessful you will likely need to get at it from above as per geoblokes instructions.

Why would doing this require "bottle"? I don't understand!
