Manufacturer Statment of Origin / build location
Does anyone know how to obtain one of these? Additionally, is it true that all new defenders are built on Slovakia and nowhere else?

I don't know how you would get a statement of origin, but yes all new Defenders are built in Slovakia, the city of Nitra.
Discovery5 vehicles have also built in the same plant since 2018, after production moved from the UK.

If you go into the Iguide there is a DECLARATIONS OF CONFORMITY. This might help you 110 XS 250 MY 23 Gondwana Stone, Cold climate pack and towbar

Does the certificate of conformity state the build location?

I believe that all VIN numbers include the code for the country of build although I don't know how to find out how to decipher the code.

Having done a bit more digging, the CoC isn't sufficient and it appears that land Rover don't give out certificates of origin as apparently they don't want the cars exported!

The first three characters of the VIN show the country and region of manufacture (S.. for the UK, my Defender is SAL…, my Morgan SA9 etc.)

As far as I know, the VIN of vehicles manufactured in Slovakia begins with U.

I think the new Defender still uses SAL at the start - the plant location is the character immediately before the last 6 numbers.

For Nitra I believe this to be "2", Solihull is "A".

Edit, confirmed:

JLR have taken this info off the iGuide online, and archive.org is down. Will update with link later.

~~~~~~~~
The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can be used to determine the vehicle's location of manufacture.
The 11th character of the VIN designates build location as specified below:
A = Solihull, United Kingdom.
C = Castle Bromwich, United Kingdom.
G = Changshu, China.
H = Halewood, United Kingdom.
L = Pune, India.
S = Oxford Road, United Kingdom.
T = Itatiaia, Brazil.
1 = Graz, Austria.
2 = Nitra, Slovakia.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
This sounds correct but unfortunately isn't good enough to issue an eur1 certificate which requires a,manufacturers statement of origin
@Martin, if you do have that link, it would be helpful.
thank you for that. Apparently they have told dealerships not to supply Certificates of Origin because they don't want them exported. I guess it allows the official dealers in overseas markets to then maintain their margins and reduce the appeal of grey imports.
