Suspension- upgrade options ?
I have a standard td5 110.

My suspension is very soft - feels like I am on a boat when I stop. 100% need new shocks.

So shall I fit standard / Oem.

Or what do you guys recommend for upgrading ?

Nothing too extreme. No lift kits etc

But interested in better performance.

Lots of road use but also over landing and green laning too.

If the ride feels like a boat, all wallowy and indistinct then it is likely your bushes are shot. If you have not had them all replaced recently then get them changed before your springs and shocks. SuperPro are the best option IMHO. Thumbs Up

I should have also said that if it comes to your springs and shocks needing replacing then there are going to be ooooooodles of replies covering fox this lowered that comfort something or other...

For me I need Miffy (TD5 110 CSW) to be 100% good at everything, not just on the road and in town. So I have SuperPro bushes coupled with Old Man Emu springs and shocks. Honestly it really is the best of all worlds IMHO.

But... what you choose depends entirely upon what you are going to use your 110 for, work that out and the forum can point you in the right direction. Thumbs Up

Bilstein Shocks are top, just replaced mine on my hard worked 110, lasted 10 years.

Good springs, not too hard make a difference. I have spacers on the front to level it up which makes a difference.

Uneven height Defender Puma 110
I’ve been trolling the forum looking for help with my uneven Defender ride height. She’s a 2015 110 XS which I’ve owned from new so I know her well. Recently noticed the front OS wheel has larger (negative) camber than the front NS wheel. Also the OS vehicle height is riding 1/2” lower than the NS. Garage has looked at suspension/tracking etc but can see no problems there. No play in wheel so I don’t think it’s bearings or swivel hub. Was also pulling to the left but putting new front tyres on seems to have cured that. Do I have a weak front OS spring (she’s done 59K miles), is the swivel hub failing? OS tyre was wearing badly on inside edge as well. Any thoughts appreciated.

You may wish to check your swivel to axle interface as the welds could have also failed. Theres a few threads about it as a Defender shouldn't have negative camber even if the spring is droppy.

With the correct springs it should sit level across the axle with a slight forward rake with the rear higher, significantly higher if its a van or double cab pick up.

Yes. I’ve just fitted exactly the above to my puma double cab.
