7.5 16 Michelin XZL alternatives Opinions welcome!
I have 16" Zoom Alloys on my truck with Michelin XZL 7.5 16's

They have served me very well over the last 5 years, but time to replace them.

About 75% of my drving is tarmac of tht 75% is motorway BUT due to where I live and a 100m dirt track steep uphill drive to my house and 1km of flat albeit bumpy dirt n pot hole track to said driveway I need to get home in the mud and snow.
I have never needed to use low range.

Appeciate any reccomendations based on above.

Yokohama Geolandar are available in the standard 7.5 (skinny tall) size. Personally I think they look good as they are a bit square in look. Great tire otherwise. I have them, but that was because Michelin was not available (in the right size/type) where I was (Middle East).

If you are interested I can forward some pictures and more details.

I've had 235-85-16 General Grabbler AT3's which I was happy with

I've currently got 265-75-16 BFG KO2's which I've been very happy with, they do a lot of trudging through snow and mank and ice on the back roads on the farm, I drove them up an ice sheet of a back road the other week with no fuss, most FWD cars had to turn back as they were just spinning, I drove past them all abiet slowly but without incident.

I've also hit more deep pot holes and ruts that I'd like and they don't have a mark on them.

They are a bit noisier than the GGAT3, but its also a Defender, I did a week on Mull last week with them and they handled all the snow, ice and rain without a flinch.

I love my 265x75R16 BFG KO2's, also highly rate 255x85R16 Toyo MT, surprisingly quiet on tarmac, but very much a mud terrain.

ST Pro's look great and perform great but are very noisy on tarmac. Also watch the speed rating, some sizes are only 68mph. Cooper AT3's always get good reviews. James

One of the few 255/85's, they will be taller than what you have now and may rub the arches, will also effect the gearing (not sure what engine you have).

The Toyo's are ok, more of an All Terrain than a Mud Terrain IMO. But probably better on the road than the XZL's.

I got BFG KM3 7.5R16 on mine.

They last as long as Michelin Lattitude Cross 7.5R16

In the first 2 years they stink - then they become pretty noisy.
