Remap... I finally did it... :D
Well, I read the posts, looked at the websites, and had plenty of emails and PM's...
I decided on the BAS remap, the forum offer post from a few days back was too good to miss!

Remap loaded in less than 10 mins, and then I had a whole weekend playing with my new toy..
The difference is amazing.. Plenty more grunt and performance. This is what LR should use as standard.

Cheers to Pete at BAS for the great deal. Thumbs Up
Thanks also go to Gary at Alive and Dave-H for their input in my descision making too.. Thumbs Up ... ,-------,

Hi Shax
it sounds great. I just wondered if there is an indication as to exactly what BHP and torque is after the remap. It doesn't say on their website maybe due to differences from vehicle to vehicle but a ballpark figure would be helpful if poss Smile

Paul,

assuming you can retain the same driving style now you have all that extra go, I'd be real interested in knowing whether or not you see an increase in fuel economy. for me this in itself might be reason enough to purchase, as previously mentioned on here over a few years this could pay for itself. since I'm looking to keep my car for many years this to me makes plenty of sense - in fact you could say its an investment (thats what I'll be telling the wife anyway Very Happy )

My consumption went down from 11-12l/100km to 9-10l/100km. These days it's more like 9.4l/100km even though I find myself driving faster Whistle --

Read the link that I posted above....Does exactly 'what it says on the tin' IF you can retain the same driving style. If you can't you get all the extra grunt and your consumption doesn't fall out of your ar5e as in my experience it remains the same if not marginally better by perhaps a couple of MPG!
I did all the maths beforehand and worked out on the mileage I was doing (and retaining the same driving style) it would take 18 months to pay for itself and 'theoretically' thereafter every 5th tank of fuel would be free! Sounded great and convinced SWMBO but the theory went totally out of the window when the map was initially fitted as my right foot doubled in size and weight straight away for a while!

Doesn't it just though!?

These days I find myself taking the landy to work instead of the A3. I just love the facial expressions of drivers in sedans next to me when I out-accelerate them up this long uphill on my daily commute. Rolling with laughter --

Naks,

On road my first gear has become totally redundant! What about yours? I was thinking about sticking my first gear in the for sale thread! Wonder how much it's worth!

I still like to use 1st to pull off, but SWAMBO prefers 2nd. Whistle --
