Yes the DVLA are hard as nails, they won't budge on this kind of thing even though the evidence backs up the request.

l had a mileage discrepancy in our 90, won't go into it but basically someone had entered 170,000 instead of 70,000 on the V5 when they sold it.

Despite MOT history, service history and the fact it couldn't possibly have done 100,000 miles in the time frame (the vehicle was bought and sold on by this person within a couple of weeks) they wouldn't change the records.
