Wolf rims
I have on order a new 130 that comes with wolf rims and one of my first mods will be to change these for alloys. Will I have to replace all the wheel studs as the Wolf one are 60mm long ??

Didn't think there were any alloys capable of taking the weight of a 130, hence why you can't order them with them on? 2011 110 USW

Nuts too probably. I went the opposite way to you going from alloys to steel. Here is the advice I got....Hope this helps...Just read it backwards... Laughing

However you may have an issue with your nuts Shocked I was told to use standard steel wheel nuts not the Ally type nut with Mach5s. This is nothing to do with dissimilar metals causing electrolyses. Its the design of the nut.
The steel nut is designed to pull up into the chamfer of the wheel, whereas the nut for the ally wheel is designed to pull up on the shoulder or washer. I also think that the chamfer of the ally type nut is different to the the chamfer in the steel wheels. The only reason for the chamfer on the ally type nut is to aid the fitting of the nut.

Please dont think I'm being a stick in the mud with this, just want you to be safe Thumbs Up

You can get galvanised steel wheel nuts cheap as chips Thumbs Up

Steel wheel nut

Alloy wheel nut

I take it thats an aftermarket rim? I'm not familiar with them as I have no wish to fit alloys to any of my vehicles, but I suppose some OM ones might be suitable, I just know Landrover ones aren't (in fact some won't even take a 110, eg Freestyles which were only ever on a 90)

My factory fit Wolf rims do not have the extended studs, I queried this and was told its perfectly fine and, as I say, thats how the factory fit them...will be interesting come MOT time in a couple of years. 2011 110 USW

Just Googled it for you - 20.5mm! Both links seem to agree:

Zu Rims are rated at 1400kg, TUV approved.

If anyone is interested in them give one of your friendly site sponsors a bell/pm Laughing

Well, yes and no.

Fitted as standard to E-WMIK, R-WMIK, some Snatch, and some Wolf Defenders, so they are original factory fit. However only available to civvy buyers as aftermarket.

Fitted to the military vehicles above since they are actually the strongest Defender wheels currently available, stronger than the Wolf steel rims.

Quality comes at a price, as usual, and they are very expensive.
