England 1993 Defender 90 300 Tdi HT Keswick Green
Spotted in Madeira
We’ve just got back from Madeira where there’s a reasonable Green oval count. There is a company doing 4x4 tours using 110’s with the roof’s cut off and another using 4 door D1’s. Most of the private D1’s we saw were 2 doors and RRC’s also being mainly 2 door. There were a few D2’s, a couple off Freelanders and a couple of Series. I even managed to get a 130 Hi-Cap fire service vehicle but it’s not a great pic cos it was hiding in the fire station. Because of the climate they were all in really good condition with rust free chassis.

I even grabbed a pic of this. It’s got Boost wheels and a Puma dash so there’s got to be a Defender under there somewhere Rolling with laughter

Lovely selection, but I’m wondering, did Mrs Whirly actually have a holiday or did she just get to follow you around Madeira looking for Defenders and Land Rovers? I think those might be her hands bottom left of the last photo and I guess she’s looking for the earliest flight back to the UK? Rolling with laughter Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

You spot Defenders all over the small Mediterranean islands, I spotted a dozen in Corsica in just a few hours back in July and the same in Ibiza a few weeks ago Thumbs Up . Ride like you stole it!!
If I’m not on a bike it’s because only a 4x4 will do…

Yet another conversion which would be difficult to achieve on the vehicle which now passes for the Defender. Rolling with laughter

That's definitely not the case, Mrs Whirly is as bad as me, even pointing out the ones that i miss. She's been well indoctrinated over the years Rolling with laughter
