Looks like dealers might be having problems selling them…
Pentland Perth have this 9750 miles D240 HSE on their website reduced from £81000 to £67000…….. is reality setting in at the dealers now interest rates are climbing?

Unfortunately a big part of the issue is the 4 cylinder diesel is les desirable, many people shopping for a 110 may decide they’d prefer an SE or even a colour coded S with the smoother and more in demand 6 cylinder engine on a 71 plate, at the same price point, over the earlier model causing a drop in demand for the smaller capacity engines. 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Norwich dealer has had a 400x on their forecourt for over a year.
Obviously overpriced
They seem to keep the prices up to artificially affect the market and make it a no brainier ordering a new one.
Demand is still very high but having a quick look on tinternet you can usually find a “reasonably” priced one. Well when I say reasonable I mean a bit cheaper than the rest.
Proves Land Rover got it spot on with the new Defender, might not be what the enthusiast wanted but the sales and demand are amazing.
If the prices do what Disco 3/4 do I’ll probably get on in about 10 years and I think I’ll be able to afford a 4 cylinder re-built right off!

There's a limit to how long people will keep paying the silly prices.

It will likely also be affected by the first batch of Defenders coming out of their PCP agreements, so there's less of a shortage.

Let's face it, no new Defender is cheap! There must be plenty of people that go to the dealer to order a new one that when they find out the waiting time are prepared to pay over the odds to get one now!

When we ordered ours, the dealer casually asked if we knew what the lead time was - when we said we were happy to wait the estimated year on the LR website, he never mentioned used / ex-demo even though they had a similar vehicle available...

My dealer in the US still bugs me every few weeks to sell my Defender and step up to a ‘23 for just a few thousand, but then when I ask him what am I supposed to drive in the year it’ll take to get the ‘23 it’s crickets. The whole thing is so stupid. Any other car I’d want is in similar demand do selling makes no sense for me yet they still call every few weeks.
