Engine Number Year
This may be a fruitless search but did LR keep a record of engine numbers with VIN numbers? Or maybe they have certain engine numbers for certain years? Or is it impossible to determine if an engine is original?

The original registration for my '06 90 says it has a 15P engine and the engine number starts 15P. Just curious if the there is some way of determining the year of the engine based on the last 6 digits.

Thanks.

Realistically, I believe, you can only assume its original.. an 06 MY should have the 15P. Tracing the exact engine to your exact vehicle, I believe, is not possible.

I noticed the other day that my engine number is printed on the V5 so it may be possible to trace via a V5. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Probably in the same "list" as the steering column spline count.... depends on what was available at the time/what they bothered to fit.

I have a way of vaguely seeing if the engine number matches when the vehicle was built, by comparing the UK vehicles from around the same time.
