New caravan to go with the Defender
We recently bought a Mink Caravan after seeing them at the overland adveture show early this summer. First time I've towed anything so bit of getting used to things, had a couple of trips and, so far, really impressed, the weight and power of the P400 makes things very easy. Off to the Yorkshire Dales on Thursday, some small roads and steep hills to practice on.

I must confess that I have the same appreciation of caravans as Jeremy Clarkson does. However having said that I do like the teardrop shape - hope you enjoy your trip to the Dales. Defender 90XS SW

Saw one of those a few weeks ago in France tower by a Dutch chap. When we noticed it, we both thought “washing machine”, due to the door.

I never really expected to buy a caravan, think we wanted a step up in comfort from a tent, and this just looked right, will make sure I don't get a queue of cars behind me.

It's difficult not to think that when you look at the doors.

The Mink is a bit like a hardshell roof tent with wheels.

I am concerned to find I quite like it! What is happening to me? Rolling with laughter

Dare I ask how much one costs?

Yeah, I like these, looks great on your truck as well.

Just the 20k plus that puts me off.

A little bit less than 20k, sounds expensive for what it is, but it is really well finished, and well designed.

Looks really cool, I would enjoy using one of those over say, a roof-tent - reckon I could shuffle out of that door much easier than potentially falling down a ladder in the middle of the night for a pee!

But a similar price to a Tab though, with it's seating and built-in cooker etc. which would make it a hard sell to the missus.

Ads90, getting out in the night for a pee is much easier than a roof tent, and much safer when going to bed if you've had a few too many. The Tabs do have the walk in benefit, however we have bought a Kampa Tailgate tent to fit on the back of the Mink, works perfectly now after a bit of trial and error joining the tent and caravan together, it gives us a covered standing up area at the back of the Mink with access to it's storage and kitchen work top area. No messing about with changing beds into dining areas every morning and evening, we have a narrow, small and very (IMHO) cool looking caravan, and it really is a very comfortable bed.
