Salisbury Diff Pinion Seal
Morning all,

About to change the diff input flange and seal on my disc braked salisbury rear axle following shotblasting and painting.

I have bought a new 'OEM' flange kit which comes with seal. The branding of the flange and seal is 'EAC'. Normally I would not entertain fitting anything but Corteco seals but it seems the choice of brands for these seals is fairly limited. From most of the suppliers EAC seems to be one of the more premium options (other options being unbranded or britpart gamble). Do people think the EAC one is usable?

The price of a genuine seal is £60-70 so certainly not fitting that!

Cheers,

Funnily enough, just done this today.

Bought/fitted a new flange 2-3 years ago due to repeated leaks from the old scored one. Didn't trust the supplied seal (pretty sure this was EAC?) so fitted an old school leather one.

This was dry for almost 18 months which was a good result but eventually started to weep then leak until during a 1000 mile trip last week I had to pour in about 3ltr of oil!!!
Today fitted the EAC seal so will see how that performs. What's the worst that can happen? Not exactly a big job to go back in and replace the seal.

Fair point cheers, will stick the EAC one in. Not looking forward to having to mess around resetting the bearing preload with the new flange!

What about using a speedysleeve and seal from an engineer's merchant?
