Haven't had it fitted but removable version is something like £1780 from dealer.

Use this link. It details all the options and the costs, which includes dealer installation.

The question is do you accept the dealer cost or go with an independent tow bar place and save 600 quid?

When I had my removable tow bar fitted the independent installers couldn’t source the Land Rover bars. The dealers were also struggling to get stock. Things might of changed now but I suspect not.

Supply doesn't seem to be an issue, I just worry that an independent will do it properly. Rear bumper has to come off so will they replace all of the inevitable broken clips?

The exhaust has to come off as well.

I like the price but I'm not sure I can bring myself to not go to LR.

Paid just over £2k to Pentland (Stirling) to have the detachable fitted late February.

They wanted over £4k for the electric deployable.

I didn't fancy any of the potential problems that going to an independent towbar specialist could have thrown up.

Thought £2k was pricey but at the time I needed the bar fitting and Pentland could do it when others couldn't. 2021 90HT Fuji with Black Pack, 22" Sawblades

The price listed on the LR site states £1,834 for a detachable tow bar, including fitting and VAT. This is what i paid. Not quite sure why you were charged more.

Went with the LR one myself, factory fit 780 inclusive. I was advised at time of order that getting one fitted after delivery would be difficult due to parts. Also checked with 3rd party and no chance was comment used. Guess dealer price is because more work is required after it's built ?

I had two recalls, so had the detachable tow bar fitted yesterday in LR Cardiff for £1,850.00 including the coloured coded trim. LR calibrate and reprogramme the software to have the tow function on the display.

SMG towing do the Tow trust detachable tow bar for £1,246.80 (minor trimming to the bumper)
