It hasn’t landed at my now obsolete D240 First Edition yet and I really don’t need it. Had the LR Nav from ICTP been carried over then I could see the value of it as apps like Waze were streets ahead of LR’s Nav but I’ve found the PiviPro Nav with live traffic updates is streets ahead and beats my neighbour’s Hyundai Nav and Infotainment in their Ioniiq5 hands down. Also in the Pivi Nav the stat base must be massive as I’ve found that virtually every green lane and forest track I’ve driven comes up on the screen and the route calculation will use them if you want. The only thing I wish JLR would allow access to is the OS app to bring online OS making onto at least one of the screens. Waze is pretty hopeless off-road!
Even the wired version I think I’ve used only a couple of times in the 17.5months I’ve owned the car, I rare,y Harte the phone in the car too but have had a few passengers using the various USB’s for that.

I thought mine was going to give me 3.0 this morning. It tuned out to be OS 2.1.6a dropping into place. Agree I could make use of the os online map. I did have to resort to google maps via android auto due to a missing country i was travelling through, namely Luxembourg wasn't on my data base at all, just a blank white space! 5 hour download for a new mapping system sorted that. It would also be good if JLR had Mirror Link software then other apps on the phone would be available. This was on a 2018 Seat Ibiza. 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White.

I got 2.1.6 about 2 weeks before I got 3.0 so it shouldn't be long, Damian Dinning who works for JLR and did all the videos (before they were taken down for some reason Neutral ) said that you had to have 2.1.6 installed before you could get the 3.0 update Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

Yes, it's a little silly, no idea why you can't just force an update Mike

Still waiting, only got 2.1.6 today so will just wait for JLRHQ to catch up. Don't use CarPlay often but will be nice to have.

Agree about access to OS mapping on the PiviPro screen, currently use my iPad on a Defender3D mount so no drama really. Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S

Mine did "a" yesterday, I thought it had already done it so 3 should be along

I have my theory but why it takes weeks between updates is beyond me, especially if the car isn't used frequently Mike

Massiveredfan - Give it a fortnight before you start to worry about the V3 update coming in as there is a delay between 2.1.6a and V3 downloading.

I have V3 now but seeing as the apps I would like to use on the bigger screen (ViewRanger and OS) won’t work in Car Play or PiviPro I have switched off ACP, it’s useless to me.
I also have wireless ACP in my new Mini Electric and it has far more Apps available but it’s also switched off in that car. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Collected mine from the dealer on Sunday 16th Jan '22 and was told it was the first car they'd seen with v3 installed from the factory. Pleased to report that wireless CarPlay works a treat.

Got my new Defender yesterday, and I’ve been trying to get wireless CarPlay working with no success. I’ve got version 3.2.1 software. Followed the Powerful video but mine is slightly different as it only shows wire less setup not wireless/ hotspot as shown in the video.
Phone seems to occasionally connect to a Wi-Fi network named LR***** but still no CarPlay icon on screen. Works ok if I plug it in. Anyone any ideas 110 XS 250 MY 23 Gondwana Stone, Cold climate pack and towbar

You have allowed it to wirelessly connect to CarPlay?

The car hotspot has nothing to do with CarPlay fyi Mike

I’ve managed to sort it out by accident. Went to my local supermarket and when I restarted the car, wireless CarPlay started. Thought it was odd, so got home tried again after startup and not connecting . Went out again later and during the journey it started up again. I also have had a LR dash cam fitted and tried to connect it to the app with no success as the dash cam Wi-Fi kept dropping out. Had a brainwave then so went out and parked near no houses, tried to connect the dash cam and it did, downloaded new firmware and set it up no problem. CarPlay working as well, but neither of them will connect when I’m at home. Come to the conclusion that I’m getting Wi-Fi interference as I’m probably picking up about 20 different Wi-Fi signals on my phone. At least I’ve managed to get it working 110 XS 250 MY 23 Gondwana Stone, Cold climate pack and towbar
