TD5 new cylinder head on standalone block with
Hi, found lots of articles on how to safely remove and refit a td5 cylinder head from a timing point of view, but non on how to fit a new head onto a block

I have a complete spare td5 engine in the garage. my running TD5 needs a new cylinder head, so the local garage removed the head of the spare engine and fitted that. They then just bolted the old head to the block without doing any timing ( They were replacing the injector seals and all the bolts holding the rocker arm shaft on ( if thats what its called on a diesel) sheared. Sp from that point of view no point in setting the timing

So basically I've got a block. Can find no 1 cylinder TDC o.k. with head offand put the (botom) lock pin in, but if /when i get a new cylinder head, how do i line that up timing wise ?

There is a slot in the camshaft to insert a timing pin in at the correct place, ie No 1 at TDC
