Surprise call from dealer.

Hi all,
I ordered a 110 X Dynamic HSE back in August, and was told to expect "about a year" until delivery. In October I was told that the order would change from 22MY to 23MY. Had a call from dealer this morning to say that the car has gone straight from 'order submitted' to 'committed to build'. Build date March 18th, delivery early April! This is unexpected and great news, but it means I had no opportunity to alter the spec, so I will have to hope I got it right!
Dealer also said that some orders are starting to come through, so perhaps the supply situation is easing a bit.
Anyone else in a similar situation?

Great news for you. I had a similar experiance. Got a clall in December that it would be build Feb 11. Got shifted to 11.03. and pulled forward to 17.02. Now sits with dealer to be picked up in the next few days. 110 D250 SE Tasman Blue, white roof, black pack, advanced towing pack, rear diff locker, driver assist

I’ve placed an order for a 23MY 110 SE to replace my 21MY 90 but haven’t heard anything regard dates, only it may be here by September. Not too concerned as I’m only changing my 90 if the used values continue to remain high, if not I’ll stick with the 90. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Yes, my dates are now very similar to yours. Ordered early August, in December advised May build, recently told build has come forward to 18 March with delivery to dealer in the week ending 8 April.

My order is still looking like September delivery to me, so July/August build. I’ve not really kept a close eye on it. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Mine arrived at the dealership on 30 March, a week earlier than the most recent forecast. It’s currently at the detailers getting full PPF then I’m due to collect from the dealership next Wednesday.

Can any of you comment on whether they have removed items from your spec due to shortages?

The spec on mine is exactly as ordered, including 11.4" screen, interactive dash and matrix headlights. Dealer said I was lucky!

Well on my July 2021 order and delivery March 2022 the following items where removed without knowing.
Electric steering wheel adjustment - I now have the manual
Full interactice dash - I now have the hybrid one (analog and digital)
plug and play (incl charging ports) in the back if the front seats
2 charging ports for the back passengers in the middle console - only 2 there now
Soft close for back door
Sunglass holder in the middel roof panel
The once I knew about
Matrix LED
Leather seats (I was able to oped in for them but only if I took the winter package which I did)
Small middle screen as the 11.4“ now is standard with all of the models 110 D250 SE Tasman Blue, white roof, black pack, advanced towing pack, rear diff locker, driver assist

I’ve no idea how mine will come, I know it doesn’t have the digital dash, but it may come with the larger 11.4” screen or it may come with the smaller screen, personally I prefer the latter. Mines a relatively standard spec SE, though I’m having doubts about trading in the 90. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I got the soft close rear door and sunglasses holder on my Feb 22 build 90HT but had the interactive driver display I wanted removed. Although I’d probably not miss them in my farmer spec 90, if I had ordered an HSE I’d be a bit miffed if they weren’t included - especially if there was no price reduction https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

It really does feel like a lottery

I can’t help that feel dealers/JLR should be more upfront about what the car will arrive with and give you the option to either postpone the order or cancel.

Some items are ‘nice to have’, whilst others could be a deal breaker for some customers if certain options are missing.

For me, the three/jump seat option on the 90HT is essential but the dealer is still on the fence as to whether it will happen. My guess is it won’t

My V8 90 had changes that I knew about - black front callipers instead of blue, larger screen, secure tracker upgrade to Pro. At collection things I didn’t know about, neither it seems did the dealer - no soft close, no sunglasses holder, no locking filler flap (??!!).

I was surprised though that I got everything else that was in the original spec given the supply chain issues. The spec is pretty immense and a lot to get my head around, but I’m having fun trying!
