Awning suggestions for 130 ex Ambulance
Hi all,

Now that the camper is done, I think I now need an awning that can be secured to the roof.
Link to finished camper video

Fixing it to the body/roof is going to be the issue though. Sides are thin and no possibility of attaching awning to a rack as well as roof also being thin

Needs to be lightweight, give cover against rain and sun, but hopefully quick to put up and pull down. Would consider 270 degree one but I think weight would scupper that.

Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated Thumbs Up Iggy/Ieuan

Awnings like the ARB ones have a t track on the back so you can use as many fixings as you like to spread the load. That combined with spreader plates (or really big washers) under the nuts on the inside should allow you to mount securely on a thin skin I would think. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Iggy can you fix a 100 x 100 alloy angle on the top of the side you want it , that would give you a permanent strong fixing 👍

I'm considering that Stew, where the roof joins the walls, there is metal, although rounded. So I could attach to this.

Also thinking that I could attach an awning rail? Iggy/Ieuan

Might pay to get your awning and then configure how and what brackets to get welded to the angle Thumbs Up

The fiamma and Thule side awnings used on motorhomes are surprisingly light and are designed to be attached to delicate side which are only plastic, polystyrene, and thin layer of ply. Possibly not the look your going for
