Retrofit Larger Screen
It looks like Vulkan Automotive have been working on retrofitting the larger screens to the dash. I missed out on the larger screen on my order because it was withdrawn on the day I put my order in Big Cry Will be watching their progress with interest, they seem to suggest that it is a straight swap using the larger screen and associated bracket.
Fast forward to about 2 minutes Thumbs Up

I have been told that the upgrade will require large screen £1600, colour matching upper console trim £400, brackets around £250 and some sort of software activation. Unfortunately It’s not £140 that can be paid for upgrade during the order Sad

Let’s see what vulcan auto will come up with. 3.0L MHVE D200 S Pangea Green+Black Pack

ls bigger better?

The smaller screen looks more integrated into the dash, and it's plenty big enough in my opinion

Small screen for me, the larger screen really doesn’t give much more of a view on the likes of 360 cameras.

Lot of money for not a lot but just my opinion Thumbs Up 23.5MY 90 D250 X-Dynamic SE, Pangea Green

Bigger screen reminds me of one of a Telsa. I like the neatness and simplicity of the smaller screen.

I looked at this on Vulkan along with the ACC but decided the price just doesn’t warrant the upgrade. I’ve decided to put my money against the IID and keep fingers crossed I’ll be able to do it myself in time.

Definitely smaller screen for me.

It's integrated in the dash, like it was designed to, in between the 2 horizontal bars.
The larger screen just looks tacked on. (I don't feel short changed despite selecting the larger screen but MY22 spec/IC issues meant I didn't receive it)

Also, I believe it's only from latest update 3.3.0 or 3.3.1 that the larger screen estate is utilised UI wise.
Before, bigger was not better, there was a lot of dead space around the edges. 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof

Yes I think if I could have go the bigger screen for £150 or whatever it was on my build I would have gone for it but I'm very happy with the small one and as people have mentioned it does look more integrated that the larger screen Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

£150 for the larger screen from factory was a no brainer for us, it’s also the way many manufacturers are now going and certainly on other LR products so the Tesla Style tablet look will become more normal in future but I get why others wouldn’t pay the big bucks for the upgrade Thumbs Up

l borrowed my friend's Tesla which had a huge central screen like a TV mounted on its side.

l thought it was just ridiculous, it didn't really do anything that the screen in my Defender won't do, for instance l see little point in having a massive nav screen it actually made it harder to read than a regular screen.

i get what you mean. However, having driving defenders with both small and large screen, I can honestly say the larger screen is wayyy better. It just feels like a car from 2022 not from 2012.

Well everyone has its own opinion i guess.....

I did ask my dealer for the price of the large screen when I picked up my car, the dealer told me the cost is around £1850+VAT Mad Mad Mad

Do you or anyone else know of anyone in the US who does retrofits/activations similar to what Vulkan does over in the UK?
