For cold weather dog walks I use North Face etip gloves. Light, warm and touch screen ready. Mine are now 7 years old and going strong.

For colder wetter weather a pair of SealSkinz waterproof all weather knitted glove. Heavier, less dextrous, but warm and dry.

Hope that helps.

Ironclad Cold Condition Waterproof have done me well. I need a new set after 10 years use.

Bought them one winter after putting up a load of scaffolding in the snow whilst at university.

Just get a pair of the thin thermal insulating food gloves and wear them as an inner pair to whatever gloves you have.

They're the type you see supermarket shelf stackers use in the frozen food section and very cheap.

In really, really cold weather, or if you are just prone to cold fingers then finger gloves just do not work - so get a pair of over mitts and wear them over your gloves.

You wouldn't think of not layering up on your torso, so layer up on your fingers is the way to go.

I walk a dog on a lead and over mitts are not an issue with most levels of dexterity required.

You can get many alternative options if you look at motorbike winter gloves, even heated ones… Ride like you stole it!!
If I’m not on a bike it’s because only a 4x4 will do…

I picked up a pair of Mechanix Ice Impact gloves last time I was over the States.

Perfect for winter.

I am sure you can get them in the UK with a quick Google.
