United Kingdom 2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 HT Alpine White
Temp gauge on a 2.4 puma defender
Temp gauge does not work sometime it stays at cold and sometimes it stays at half way( even when I have just started engine). Was putting in new bulkhead so we changed the temp sensor on rear of engine but this has not sorted the problem
What should I try next

Try cleaning the connections to the sensor with contact cleaner. My temp gauge was doing all kinds of weird things after I had some work done and once I cleaned it they all cleared up.
