I give up... where do these bolts go??

So this is the downside of stripping a 90 around 18 months ago and not starting to put it back together until now... I can work out where these bolts and washers go.

I am refitting my roof and windscreen frame. I took care when I took it apart to bag up all the nuts and bolts and kept them all separate for each area. These 2 washers/nuts and bolts are different to all the others. Does anyone know where they go?

I have looked on the workshop manual and parts book, but the only pictures I can find show them with a random arrow somewhere under the roof.

They hold the roof to the top of the windscreen frame.

Thanks 'Dorset' & Mo - that is the picture that I found, but I am not sure where they actually go.

Are these the bolts that hold the screen and roof together? I only have 2 and there are more than 2 bolt holes in the roof/screen. Should I have more of these? Has my careful bagging of parts gone wrong somewhere?

The nutplates go into the oval openings in the forward section of the roof (above where the sun visors would be). The bolt go from bottom, through the windscreen frame, so the windscreen is fastened to the roof. You should have 6 sets in all. On newer Defenders, there should also be 2 self tappings, one on either side right at the corners. Earlier defenders had 2 M6 bolts at the corners. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Thanks for the pointers ... job done.

Not sure why I only have 2, but hey it is a Land Rover, anything is possible. Just replaced the others with in stainless nuts and bolts with penny washers. Smile
