SPEEDOMOTER AND TYRE CHANGE
I RECENTLY FITTED 235/85/16 tyres on a DEFENDER 90 THAT PREVIOUSLY HAD A LARGER TYRE SIZE(265/16). THE SPEEDO NOW UNDER READS BY A SMALL AMOUNT BUT THE FASTER YOU GO THE ERROR SEEMS TO INCREASE. IS THERE A FITMENT PART ON THE BACK OF THE SPEEDOMETER THAT CAN BE CHANGED TO CORRECT THIS? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

I'm a bit confused by this. I assume your previous tyres were 265/75R16? The 235/85R16 size is the same diameter/circumference effectively so there should be no change in Speedo accuracy.

That is what I thought but the car is not mine and I have been told that the speedo is slightly out. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Speedos are designed to over read. If you have the the older cable driven speedo, they just do what they like so they'll under or over read depending on how they feel and the phase of the moon.
