Soundproofing layers... what next
I am currently adding 2mm silent coat to my 90.Should there be another layer of sound deadening between the silent coat and carpet?

If so what product do people recommended?

Silent coat should be enough.
Most carpets have a foam backing, and also Exmoor trim recommend nothing over 5mm underneath as you'll struggle to fit the carpet over it.

Silent coat will do a great job of cutting down the resonance of the panel and will act to a small degree as a sound barrier, but ideally it should be matched with a dedicated sound barrier to stop the transmission of sound through the panel.

Be selective where you place it though as many are open cell foam and so will soak up water. I have used this on wheel arches, bulkhead and seat box. In the footwells, which are always wet, I use a thick piece of rubber stable mat which does well as a sound barrier.

I used 2mm silent coat in my 90 floor and sides which has made a big difference.

On the 110 I used 2mm on the floor, walls and roof. I used 3mm on the rear wheel boxes and 4mm in the front seat boxes, footwells and gearbox tunnel. Then I used the Isolator 6 on the walls and roof and thick rubber matting all over the footwells and gearbox tunnel. It's made a significant difference and definitely better results than the 90.

As 8619simon said, deadening.co.uk is a good place to go, I got all of mine from there. "save10" will get you 10% off as well.

Over the butyl sheets (I used Noico), which went everywhere except the rear floor, I used a mix of self-adhesive closed cell foam (Noico) and mass-loaded vinyl (Dodo Mat) before carpeting over the top with the premium Exmoor Trim set which has a thick felt-type of backing. The choice of foam or MLV was to put foam anywhere that wasn't subject to foot/load traffic (vertical panels and, top of seat-box and the roof) and MLV anywhere horizontal or noisy (top of rear arches, the floor and the seat-box- under the lids and over the gearbox panel).
I didn't use butyl sheets on the rear floor because I'll occasionally want to carry heavy abrasive stuff (stone, etc) and didn't glue the MLV down there for the same reason. MLV is stuck down everywhere else I used it. Although the MLV would be (much) better at absorbing the sound than the foam I didn't use it everywhere because it is heavy and I didn't want it self-detaching on hot days! I included the foam mainly to provide a degree of thermal insulation from both heat and cold.
Overall very well worth the effort and cost. Transformed on motorways and noticeably cooler inside on sunny days (having the rear windows dark tinted has helped as well). Loud music leaks out less, too. Cheers, Guy.

Thanks for the advice and recommendations. Will need to do a little googling and see what the options/costs are.
