I haven’t updated this thread for a while, but there has been some progress…

-the quadtech body was removed

-we’re happy because the chassis was solid 👍

- I spent a few hours with a needle gun, tidying up the chassis

- we used lanoguard to protect the chassis

I’m not happy with the look so I probably steam clean, underseal and re-lanoguard

- we have made a lift for the ambulance body using some pallet racking and chainblocks

- the 130 truck cab and windscreen has been removed (will be putting up for sale)

Next jobs to work out what we need to support the ambulance body, water tanks for camper in the gaps! Jit

Cheers Terry!

I’m learning on the job! The chap with me Alan is the brains of the outfit, he’s a very experienced metal fabricator and works on hgvs etc

He’s 78 years young and still works full time, he’s helping me evenings and weekends

I think I want to remove the snorkel, has anyone experience of fitting something like this
https://www.jgs4x4.co.uk/defender-wolf-style-air-intake-xd-vent/

The wolf style intake to a puma engine, just wandering if it will affect the breathing of the engine in any way?

I think it will suit the look of the vehicle - or just go back to a standard vent? Jit

Wolf style vents were designed to be run as twin setups, one in each wing.

Nice work so far, well done. Cheers

Cheers James

I did read up on that about the wolf vents, how they designed them so you could have one side submersed whilst driving- not something I think anyone would do practically!

However are they just like grills, shouldn’t stop airflow?

I’m thinking of installing more for cosmetic reasons- who knows may change my mind - do like the look of them though! Jit

You won't have a restriction that will impact engine performance Cheers
