Blank canvass - Alarm/Immobiliser/Tracker + central locking
My truck (110 CSW 1988) is undergoing a full nut and bolt restoration and we are getting to the electrics/electronics. If you had a blank canvass and wanted to fit central locking intergrating with an alarm/immobiliser/tracker (all Thatcham approved) and you weren't too worried about cost what direction would you go down?

Central locking is quite easy to install - there is a good UK Supplier call HAWK - they sell kits - alarm/central locking/immbollisers all in one kit.
Theres a few walkthrough guides installing these on defenders also.
Usually a 2 hour job for someone with good car electric knowledge.

If you want the rear door to be on the CL usually a bit harder to run the cables etc and fit the actuator with the way the defender rear door locking units work but it is doable.

Thanks Karl - appreciate you taking time out. It is reassuring to know that Hawk is the option you identified as it is one I have been investigating. Once the CL has been fitted is there a particular brand of alarm/immobiliser/tracker you'd recommend. I have been reading up on Scorpion - do you have an opinion on them?

No worries.
I went with a Hawk alarm that has a loiter feature so if the alarm is set and someone is hanging about around your car it will sound a mini alarm before the full alarm actuates.

Alarms and Immoblisier are only deterents and usually easy to get round for certain crims.

Long as its loud as f*ck lol

Get a pedal guard or a pedal pin for extra secruity.

Having 4 different trackers on my current cars, Vodafone / cobra track for me is the best.
