Doing some decorating and want to remove a surplus telephone extension. It's not the master socket. The wire just dissapears into the wall. Does.anyone know, can I just cut the wire off , or will it knacker the the phone/broadband in the house.

If it’s just one wire in then yes you can just cut/remove the wire and that would have no effect, but make sure no bare wires are touching each other. Do you know where it is run from? Would be better to disconnect at the other end.

How many telephone sockets have you got? If this is the only one (other than your master Socket) then yes. It will.

Thanks all. We have the master socket plus 2 extension sockets. I’ll go and do some digging around the master socket to see if I can see the extension wire. I must also check if the extensions are even connected, they may not be, I’ve never used them. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
